With the combination of a growing black and whitelist and the additional benefit of feedback from the ever increasing Advisor Community, the grey area of unknown programs is becoming smaller and smaller. This essentially allows us to protect against the known and the unknown. In doing this DriveSentry provides the automation of read and write access decisions for the known and the behavioral analysis and potential threat scoring of those programs which are unknown.

Thanks to DriveSentry's Auto Advisor function, popups which require your interaction are minimized. With Auto Advisor running you will only be notified of attempted access if the program concerned is not in the Advisor database and does not meet your Advisor Community approval threshold. Automation of write access decisions based on Advisor Community feedback works through the concept of a community threshold. DriveSentry have configured this threshold by default to enable automatic access to your drives, this threshold can be modified as required.

Programs which are completely unknown to DriveSentry and do not meet this community threshold will trigger a popup. In this case behavioral monitoring is used to predict a potential threat score. This threat score is presented on the popup, giving you a greater level of information and confidence in deciding which unknown programs can access your drives.

DriveSentry monitors all access to your protected areas. To minimize popups as programs attempt to write to your protected areas, DriveSentry incorporates an Auto Advisor feature. This feature will automatically allow access to all whitelisted programs and programs which have been trusted by the Advisor Community.

Auto Advisor will also automatically block and quarantine over 1 million known malicious files from accessing your drives. So the proportion of programs attempting to access your drives which are completely unknown will trigger a popup requiring authorization from you before access is granted.

DriveSentry is constantly analyzing and monitoring all access to your drives, including removable drives which are attached to the host computer. This provides an essential layer of proactive protection which can run along side your existing security software. Once DriveSentry is up and running you will benefit from proactive antivirus protection as DriveSentry catches viruses, Trojans and malicious code before they have the chance to infect and attack your data.

This ensures that your database of black and whitelisted programs is always up-to-date.
